In den Workshops entwickelt ihr eigene Filmideen, schreibt Drehbücher, erlernt den Umgang mit Kamera, Tonaufzeichnung, Regiearbeit, Schauspiel und Filmschnitt und realisiert eure eigenen Filme. Ihr entscheidet worüber ihr in euren Filmen erzählen wollt. Das Thema Grenzüberschreitung, Erleben und Überwinden von physischen, geografischen, und psychologische Grenzen ist Inspiration und Ausgangspunkt. Wir sind gespannt auf eure Ideen und helfen euch bei der Umsetzung.

Workshoptage im Einzelnen:

Tag 01/ Freitag, 01.06. – Kennenlernen, Drehbuch schreiben, Teil 1: Einführung Themen und Ideen. Teamarbeit zur Ideenfindung: Austausch, Brainstroming und Mindmap. Einführung: Protagonisten. Von wem oder was wird erzählt? Wo kommen sie her? Welche Erfahrungen bringen sie mit? Wo wollen sie hin, was treibt sie an? Was haben sie mit mir zu tun? Schreiben in kleinen Gruppen.

Tag 02/ Samstag, 02.06. – Drehbuch schreiben, Teil 2: Einführung Handlungsräume: Wo spielt die Handlung? Was erzählt ein Drehort über die Figuren? Wie verändert der Drehort die Handlung? Übungen: Gleiche Handlung an unterschiedlichen Orten filmen. Einführung Szenisches Schreiben. Aus welcher Perspektive wird der Film erzählt? Subjektiv, neutral, allwissend? Übungen zum perspektivischen Erzählen. Schreiben in kleinen Gruppen.

Tag 03/ Sonntag, 03.06. – Drehbuch schreiben, Teil 3: Einführung Visuelles Schreiben. Übungen zur visuellen Umsetzung mit Kamera: Einstellungsgrößen, Tiefenschärfe und Perspektiven. Einführung Zeit im Film: Zeitabläufe, Chronologie, Wiederholungen, Déjà-vu oder Flashbacks. Ausprobieren des szenischen Drehbuchs in ein fotografisches Storyboard. Schreiben in kleinen Gruppen.

Tag 04/ Freitag, 15.06. – Dreharbeiten, Teil 1: Drehvorbereitung, Drehteams bilden, Exkursionen in Drehteams, wie arbeitet ein Drehteam, vor und hinter der Kamera. Gedrehtes Material sichten, auswählen – was bleibt, was funktioniert, was kann weg?

Tag 05/ Samstag, 16.06. – Dreharbeiten, Teil 2: Filmdreh, Exkursionen in Drehteams, Filmaufnahmen, gedrehtes Material sichten, auswählen – was bleibt, was funktioniert, was muss wiederholt werden?

Tag 06/ Sonntag, 17.06. – Dreharbeiten, Teil 3: Exkursionen in Drehteams, Filmaufnahmen, gedrehtes Material sichten, auswählen – was bleibt, was funktioniert, was muss wiederholt werden?

Tag 07/ Freitag, 22.06. – Filmschnitt, Teil 1: Einführung in das Schnitt-Programm Final Cut Pro X, Sichtung Material, wen notwendig Nachdreh, Rohschnitt: Wie ordne ich Filmmaterial im Final Cut Pro, wie behalte ich die Übersicht: Auswahl der gefilmten Einstellungen, Reihenfolge festlegen.

Tag 08/ Samstag, 23.06. – Filmschnitt, Teil 2 : Rohschnitt, Töne anlegen, Tonaufnahmen für Filmschnitt, Rhythmus und Dynamik im Zusammenspiel

Tag 09/ Sonntag, 24.06. – Filmschnitt, Teil 3: Feinschnitt, Sprach- und Musikaufnahmen, alles kommt zusammen und verdichtet sich: Rhythmus, Musik, Geräusche, Abmischen der verschiedenen Tönn, Geräusche, Dialoge und Musik, Vor und Abspann.

Tag 10/ Samstag, 30.06. – Abschlusspräsentation: Texte für die Dokumentation schreiben, Statements, Fotos auswählen. Vorbereitung Präsentation und Vorführung der fertigen Filme.

Alle (geflüchtete, junge Erwachsene, von 18 bis 26 Jahre alt) sind willkommen. Ihr braucht keine Vorkenntnisse, um am Workshops teilzunehmen. Ihr solltet Lust haben, Filme zu machen, offen sein Neues auszuprobieren und von- und miteinander zu lernen.

Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos, Verpflegung wird von uns gestellt. Alle Teilnehmer erhalten am Ende des Workshops eine Teilnahmebescheinigung. Sprachen: Deutsch, Englisch und Übersetzung ins Arabische, Dari und Farsi.

Geleitet werden die Workshops von Katja Pratschke und Gusztáv Hámos, beide sind Filmemacher*innen, Autoren*innen und Dozent*innen. Übersetzung: Jean Khatharra (farsi/dari).

In the workshops, you will develop your own film ideas, write your scripts, learn to deal with camera, sound, light, directing, acting, as well as editing to be able to make your own movie. You choose the issues and stories, that are important for you to tell. The subject Step across the border, how to push and overcome all kind of borders will serve as inspiration and starting point. We are looking forward to your ideas and help you to make a film of them.

The workshop takes place in 3 blocks of 3 days, plus one day for presentation:

Day 01/ Friday, 01.06. – Get to know each other, script writing, part 1: subject and ideas. Teamwork: brainstorming, exchange, mind map. Introduction main characters: About whom or what is the narration? Where are they from? What experiences did they made? Where are they heading to, what drives them? How are they connected with myself? Script writing in small groups.

Day 02/ Saturday, 02.06. – Script writing, part 2: Introduction Narrative space: Where does the narrative takes place? What does the location tells us about the characters? How does the location influences the action? Exercise: filming the same action at different locations. Introduction scenic writing: From which point of view the narration is told: subjective, neutral Exercises perspective narration: script writing in small groups.

Day 03/ Sunday, 03.06. – Script writing, part 3: Introduction visual writing. Exercise with camera: framing, hors champ, depth of focus and perspective. introduction perception of time in film: passage of time, chronology, loops, déjà-vu or flash back. Testing the script, a photo graphic storyboard. script writing in small groups.

Day 04/ Friday, 15.06. – Film shooting, part 1: preparation, building teams, filming at locations, how does a film crew works in front and behind camera? Checking the filmed material, which scenes worked, what needs to be filmed again?

Day 05/ Saturday, 16.06. – Film shooting, part 2: filming at locations. Watching the film material, which scenes worked, what needs to be filmed again?

Day 06/ Sunday, 17.06. – Film shooting, part 3: filming at locations. Watching the film material, which scenes worked, what needs to be filmed again?

Day 07/ Friday, 22.06. – Editing, part 1: Introduction Final Cut Pro X, watching the film material, rough cut: How do I start the editing? How to keep the over view? Selecting the right shoots and deciding the order of the them.

Day 08/ Saturday, 23.06. – Editing, part 2: Rough cut, trying out sounds, recording additional sounds. Interplay of rhythm and dynamic.

Day 09/ Sunday, 24.06. – Editing, part 3: final cut, language and music recording, everything comes together: rhythm, music, sound. Mixing of the audio files, Credits.

Day 10/ Saturday, 30.06. – Presentation, writing short statements for the documentation, selecting photos of the film and making off. Preparation presentation and screening of the films.

Young adults refugees, age: 18 to 26 are welcome to the workshop! For the workshops, you do not need any previous knowledge. If you feel like being open to new things and learning from and with each other then you will certainly be able to make a movie, starting from scratch. The participation is for free, catering is provided by us. In the end all participants receive a certificate of the workshop.

Language: German, English and translation into Dari, Farsi and Arabic.

The workshop is run by Katja Pratschke and Gusztáv Hámos, both are filmmakers, authors and lecturers. Translation: Jean Kharratha.
