Where do you feel at home? What does home mean to you? – The project "Your Photo Film on the Topic of Home" kicked off with a seminar from October 1st to 3rd, 2018, focusing on getting to know one another, exchanging ideas, and receiving plenty of input on the topic of home/being at home and media. Highlights included a presentation and discussion with Lela Ahmadzai, multimedia journalist and photographer, active in various fields, including the New German Media Makers. In connection with her work and projects such as "The Unyielding" / portraits of women in Kabul or the platform handbookgermany.de, the seminar also covered practical interview techniques and methods for using photography to tell stories and create suspense.
After camera and sound exercises, the participants developed initial ideas for their own photo and film projects. These projects incorporate discussions about life in Germany, as well as experiences of displacement and growing up in different countries. Until the next seminar during the autumn holidays, further ideas and materials will be collected, and tasks for creating their own photo and film projects will be assigned. This will allow them to combine these learning experiences with the collected photographs and sound recordings to realize their own photo and film project ideas.
Information is also available in Arabic and Farsi/Dari here.
