Seminar for student representatives: “Communication”

The first SV seminar of 2013 was dedicated to "communication." Student representatives from the Wilma-Rudolph-Schule , the Paulsen-Gymnasium and the Willi-Graf-Gymnasium worked in art and media groups from January 26 to February 1, 2013, exploring various aspects of communication, discussing communication problems, and considering how to resolve them. Various forms of expression, such as visual and body language, as well as musical interludes, were used. The impressive results of the theater, weblog, black-and-white photography, digital photography, and video groups were presented to guests at the WannseeFORUM and are largely documented on the weblog they created: commUNITYcation .

Later in the seminar, the student representatives had the opportunity to apply their experiences as student representatives in a simulated GSV meeting by discussing and voting on proposals to the GSV in various roles as chairperson, parent, or teacher representatives. It became clear that successful communication, especially in larger groups, is dependent on a variety of prerequisites.

The student representatives are now taking the skills and experiences they gained from the seminar back to their schools. They can help them to advocate for their own interests and those of their classmates.
