The rapid digitalization of everyday life and society raises many questions: "How human can robots be?", "Smart City \u2013 what is (still) science fiction and what is already reality?" and "Is our reality distorted by social media?" \u2013 these and other questions were posed by trainees from the Louise-Schroeder-School in the seminar "Human, Machine, Possibilities. Living and Working in a Smart World" from March 11th to 15th, 2019 at the wannseeFORUM.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

In the four workshop groups \u2013 Staged Reading, Maker Workshop, Black and White Photography and Multimedia \u2013 they worked with different media on various content focuses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What distinguishes humans from machines? How close or distant, or merged, are they, and could they be in the future? The workshop group presented texts they had written themselves on these topics. Staged reading<\/strong> in a performance for guests entitled "Son sei kan \u2013 Feeling of Presence". Some of the The texts can be read here.<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What does the Smart City look like today and what will it look like in the future? Is data protection even possible within it? Does it offer new opportunities, for example, for sustainable living? In the Maker workshop <\/strong>The participants researched, discussed, and creatively produced projects on these topics. To develop their ideas and concepts, they programmed small circuit boards like Calliope and Makey Makey, building their own smart objects, which they presented in a final exhibition. Visitors were able to interactively explore and discuss a poster, a city model, and a quiz game \u2013 and share their experiences with the workshop group, exploring maker spaces as new venues for digital education. In our already ubiquitous digital space, the question has long been raised whether images create their own realities. How do humans read images, and how do machines read them? This initial question led to the development of... Black and white photography workshop group<\/strong>Discussions arose regarding image-altering algorithms and how we deal with them \u2013 for example, through filters automatically applied to selfies by machines or chosen by people themselves. What does beauty still mean in this context? What becomes a flaw? In self-conceived photographic series, the participants expressed their views on these questions using analog photography. Through developing film and making prints in an analog darkroom, the question of uniqueness and authenticity amidst the flood of digital images also became a central theme. The final exhibition showcased diverse perspectives on this topic. They are also photographed here digitally.<\/a> Available again as a collected PDF.

\u201eIs our reality distorted by social media?\u201c the [name of person] also wondered. Multimedia Workshop Group<\/strong>. She satirically addresses this question in her video "Wannseeschau," a 2021 news program packed with fun facts about Instagram and other social media platforms. She explores our relationship with social media and what's truly important\u2014for example, the content of a picture or the right lighting? What's relevant in an interview? Answers to socio-political questions or the perfect interior? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
