Which current airline headline is being recreated here through staged photography? Staging? Manipulation? Authenticity? Media creators aged 17 to 25 from all over Germany explored "#aFakeWorld" at BilderBewegungBerlin 2017 from August 26 to September 2, 2017. In this collaborative seminar with the German Children's and Youth Film Center (KJF), they created their own fictions and fakes in workshops on experimental short film, digital photography, and black-and-white analog photography.
To explore opinions, manipulation, perspectives, and other questions surrounding the topic of fake news, BilderBewegungBerlin launched a "FakeLab" in 2017. The first photos and films on the subject of fake news and fiction were created in a total of four stages.

New picture in a well-known scandal?
Photojournalism and authenticity were topics of discussion during the artist talk with photographer Jonas Wresch, winner of the German Youth Photography Prize 2012. His approaches and experiences, including those from his studies in photojournalism and documentary photography in Hanover and as a photography scholarship recipient of the STERN editorial team, provided many insights into the theme "#a FakeWorld".„
The digital photography workshop group also drew inspiration from the c/o gallery and the exciting guided tour led by chief curator Felix Hofmann, here in the exhibition by Josef Koudelka, Invasion/Exiles/Wall.
Artificial worlds? The Experimental Short Film workshop group sought out exciting filming locations and received permission to film in a Möbel Hübner branch.

Digital photography workshop: Experimenting with prints, made possible by the A3+ photo printer provided by Canon.
And experiments every now and then, too.
This has resulted in many different perspectives on appearance and reality, manipulation and authenticity, and truth and fiction. They were presented to guests at the end of #bbb17 during a screening of the resulting episodic film. “FAKE-O-RAMA”…
