“Inclusion in the digital society” was the opening theme of the political education Barcamp, which took place from May 2nd to 4th, 2018, at the wannseeFORUM Foundation. The working basis was an expanded concept of inclusion, which refers to the equal participation of everyone in all areas of society.
A total of fifty participants, i.e., attendees and contributors, focused their exchange at this #bcpb on learning from each other, discussion, networking and joint idea development.
Inputand interactive engagement with the topic were offered by, among others, Michel Arriens, online activist, blogger and speaker for inclusion and against (media) discrimination, campaigner and social media manager at Change.org, as well as active at Leidmedien.de and in the Federal Association of People of Short Stature and their Families (BKMF) eV. approaches and tools from the Open Knowledge Foundation on "Inclusion in the Digital Society" in her sessions.
The published session documentation reflects the wide range of topics, tools, and ideas of #bcpb18. Inclusion of people with refugee experience in educational work and contemporary forms of participation were among the session topics, as were fair fees in political education, encrypted communication, and programming and political education.

The next BarCamp on Political Education, a nationwide project of the youth education officers in the "Digital Media and Democracy" working group within the "Political Youth Education in the AdB" program, is already in the planning stages. #bcpb19 will take place from May 7th to 9th, 2019, at the Alte Schule Neu Anspach educational center of basa eV, combined with a full-day workshop .
