Shared horizons, new perspectives.
The International Summer Workshop „Shared Horizons“ (July 11-18, 2026) brought together young people from Poland, Spain, Germany, and the Czech Republic. In five artistic workshops—painting, photography, dance & theater, and music—they were able to work creatively and discover new forms of expression. Cultural excursions to Berlin complemented the program.

How do we see the world – and what changes when we look at it through the eyes of others?
In the photography workshop, participants explored this question. They discovered the possibilities of their cameras, developed their own photographic ideas and series, and explored Berlin in pairs. This resulted in personal photographic perspectives on places, people, and their surroundings. Through shared discussions, the images were viewed, debated, and selected for the final presentation. The photographs tell stories of different viewpoints and perceptions, coalescing into a shared visual dialogue.

In the painting and drawing workshop, participants experimented with color, line, surface, and material. They explored artistic ways of expressing personal impressions and different perspectives on the world.
This resulted in works on various painting surfaces and with different colorants. Materials were experimented with, combined, and reimagined.
In addition to individual works, the group also developed a collaborative large-format piece. The interplay of diverse ideas, influences, and visual languages resulted in a work that makes the shared creative process visible.
The exchange of ideas and collaborative work were an important part of the process. The individual works and the collaborative work were presented in an exhibition for the final presentation.

The theatre workshop involved experimenting with body, voice, and rhythm. The central question was how different personal and cultural perspectives on the world can be made visible and tangible on stage.
Through various theatrical exercises and improvisations, the participants developed their own forms of expression, tried out new things, and consciously took creative risks. Individual ideas and impulses were combined and further developed into a shared artistic language.
Thus, step by step, an imaginative and independent performance emerged, supported by the diversity of the participants and their different experiences, perspectives and stories.

In the dance workshop, movement became an expression of personal perspectives and shared experiences. The participants experimented with body, space, rhythm, and dynamics, developing their own movement motifs from this.
Individual ideas gradually evolved into a shared choreography. The focus was on encounters, mutual reactions, and making differences and commonalities visible through movement.
The final choreography combines the individual forms of expression of the participants into a shared dance whole and brings the theme "Shared Horizons" to the stage.

In the "Music & Songwriting" workshop, participants worked creatively together. Each person developed their own song, drawing on the musical ideas and support of the others. The participants complemented each other, experimented with different sounds and arrangements, and thus allowed their individual songs to develop. For the final presentation, a collaborative cover version was also created, reflecting the group's musical collaboration. Music became a language that connects people and opens up shared horizons.
