What is the JuLeiCa?
Training for young people between 16 and 27 years old
A Youth Leader Card (JuLeiCa) is your certificate of having learned how to work with young people. It's a card you can show when you're supervising a summer camp a workshop leading , or, especially, if you want to take on a night shift at the wannseeFORUM . Often, the JuLeiCa is a prerequisite for such jobs. Furthermore, the JuLeiCa serves as your volunteer ID and entitles you to discounts at various places.
How do I get the JuLeiCa (Youth Leader Card)?
To get the card, you'll need to complete a training course. We'll be holding this course during the autumn holidays. Important: You must attend the entire training course to receive the JuLeiCa (Youth Leader Card). This also includes a first aid course , a passport photo , and then you'll receive the card by mail.
What will I learn during the training?
You will learn concrete methods for working with children and young people. Together, we will review the legal situation , for example, regarding duty of supervision. You will also learn group dynamics , communicationskills, the fundamentals of diversity-conscious pedagogy , and much more.
What is happening on site?
Arrival is by approximately 10:00 AM on Monday (exact seminar times will be announced later). Tuesday through Friday will be a full program, and departure is around 4:30 PM on Saturday. We will begin with a relaxed start to the program, getting to know each other and working through the content together.
What are the requirements for participation?
You must be able to attend the entire duration. If you are unable to attend, for example, for a single day, we unfortunately cannot issue you the certificate. The training is offered free of charge to members of the youth advisory board. We do this because the youth advisory board volunteers its time at various events for the wannseeFORUM, and we want to acknowledge their work through such training and further education. Furthermore, the Youth Leader Card (JuLeiCa) is a prerequisite for taking on tasks at the wannseeFORUM itself, such as night watch or seminar assistance.
Even if you're not a member of the youth advisory board, you can still participate! The participation fee, including the training itself, meals (4 meals a day), and accommodation, is €21 per day, or €126 for the week.
You must at least 16 years old . If you can't afford the fee, please contact Marcellina.
