With the "BarCamp Political Education" (#bcpb), we aim to further promote new approaches to merging political education with the BarCamp event format (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp). At #bcpb Education, interested individuals will find a self-directed learning space where concepts and methods of political education, as well as theoretical models, are presented and discussed.
, the #bcpb (Federal Conference for Political Education) took place for the second time. This year it was held at the ABC Hüll near Hamburg. It was specifically aimed at multipliers in political education, including full-time, freelance, and volunteer political educators and youth group leaders. A key focus of the 2012 #bcpb was the topic of "Globalization and Media Communication."
The #bcpb is an open event whose program is shaped on-site by the participants: Anyone who wants to contribute can make a suggestion during the morning session planning and will be given a slot in the program. People who simply have questions or want to discuss specific topics are also welcome. Whether discussion rounds, workshops, lectures, films… almost anything is possible. Explicitly, space will also be provided for planning joint projects…likely also in 2014, at a bcpb in Berlin.
