We say goodbye to Ulla Politowski

We say goodbye to Ulla Politowski

Ms. Politowski, or Ulla, as we called her, had always been there. Roman Fröhlich first met her in 2015 when he wanted to learn more about Moritz von Engelhardt and the workshop principle. Ulla listened to his request, set off, and returned with the booklet "The Salt in the Soup" and the official gazette of the German Scout Association, published in honor of Moritz von Engelhardt. She supplemented the information with her own experiences from the time when Engelhardt was a director at the wannseeFORUM. With her subtle humor, she enjoyed recounting her memories of the Wannsee youth center in the 1970s and 80s, often bringing a smile to our faces. Her ability to patiently and clearly train new colleagues deserves special mention. She made it easier for many of us to get started at the wannseeFORUM and was a reliable contact person in our daily work. Without her dependability in administration, the wannseeFORUM wouldn't be what it is today. In 1971,Ursula Eberthired as a secretary. From 1980 to 1986, Ulla worked as head of administration. She then transferred, at her own request, to payroll and financial accounting. Over the years, she also took on additional responsibilities in seminar administration. Even after her retirement, Ulla remained closely connected to our foundation until 2023 as a part-time employee, continuing to support us with advice and practical assistance. She had the right answer to many of our questions and gladly shared her knowledge of both the big and small aspects of running the organization with us, her colleagues. She was a fair and honest person who always had the courage to express her opinion openly and honestly to everyone.

We are very grateful to her for all of this and bid a very sad farewell to our esteemed colleague Ulla Politowski.
