Students from the partner schools of the Großbeerenstraße network in Tempelhof-Schöneberg visited us as part of the network's autumn camp. The focus was on creative work on the Großbeerenstraße network's intercultural calendar for 2021.
The starting point for this project was the visual representation of international proverbs. Since young people from diverse cultural backgrounds participated in the seminar, a wealth of different and similar sayings quickly emerged. The proverbs were collected and discussed, and their meaningful translations were eagerly debated. This led to a lively exchange about the meaning, perception, and background of these maxims in different cultures. Each group selected several proverbs, some creatively adapting them to their own experiences, and, in collaboration with the educators, sought a suitable way to translate them into a photographic image that now speaks for itself.
