BORDERS & CONNECTIONS

In cooperation with the Bettina-von-Arnim-School and the Kurt-Schwitters-School, the wannseeFORUM offered an art seminar for students who wanted to engage intensively with art. This year's artFORUM, themed "Boundaries and Connections," took place from February 12 to 16, 2024, at the wannseeFORUM.

All of life is shaped by boundaries, be they geographical, political, moral, economic, or legal. The students explored questions on this topic in creative ways:

  • What significance do borders hold for us today?
  • Where are there visible and invisible boundaries?
  • When do we cross it?
  • How can we respect boundaries, and when do they restrict us?

This process sparked many questions and ideas, which were then explored in individual artistic projects. The students could choose between sculpture, painting, drawing, and analog and digital photography.

More pictures from the seminar week are available on Flickr.

The resulting works reflect the participants' intensive engagement and impressively demonstrate how diverse and inspiring the work can be far removed from everyday school life.

The seminar was a collaboration between the Bettina-von-Arnim and Kurt-Schwitters schools.
It was funded by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family.
