Education Prize Seminar, June 26-29, 2016
Three energizing days of seminars: For the third year in a row, the young winners of the "ENERGY Loaded" student competition were guests at the wannseeFORUM at the end of June. The competition, which focuses on the topic of energy (this year under the motto "Energy is SMART"), is organized annually by the BDEW Berlin/Brandenburg regional groupwith the aim of inspiring students in Berlin and Brandenburg with technology and the world of energy production. The best entries on the competition theme – be they posters, models, or films – are awarded prizes, with the winners receiving a customized educational program at the wannseeFORUM as the main prize.
Under the guidance of experienced trainers, the 25 young people from Berlin and Brandenburg spent three days intensively studying communication and rhetoric, etiquette, and team building: What do I need to pay attention to when speaking in front of a group? How can I best convince others of my views? What do I need to consider when giving feedback? And what actually constitutes good teamwork? A dance evening, an interactive etiquette crash course, and shared leisure activities rounded out the program. At the end of the seminar, the key results of the small group work were presented before the participants – naturally full of energy – headed home, carrying new impressions, ideas, and contacts. Planning for next year's competition has already begun, and we're looking forward to it!
