“face to face” – from selfies to city portraits
A face, a group, a city – portraits tell stories about people and places in pictures, revealing more than just their outward appearance. But in the age of the selfie, are the unique qualities of a portrait still important, or is this global mass phenomenon merely a reflection of the superficiality of today's media communication?
At the seminar “face to face – from selfie to city portrait” from May 4th to 9th, young people participating in a voluntary social year explored this topic experimentally in three parallel practical workshops. Their diverse approaches and attempts to discover unusual perspectives and implement ideas using media are reflected in their results from the workshops “Digital Photography”, “Black and White Photography”, and “Experimental Short Film”.
Digital works will be posted here soon.
