Where people usually throng, there is now a yawning emptiness. Meanwhile, the internet is filling up with countless Zoom conferences. During the break, some wonder from whom they could borrow a dog for a walk… – Images from the pandemic, created in the photography and film workshops of the seminar “#InterAction”.
How do we find images to represent what concerns us all during the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic – the absence or alteration of our connection on both a personal and societal level? What do indoors and outdoors, distance and closeness, individuality and solidarity mean these days – and how can we, sitting alone at home, still find ways to connect and develop our own forms of #InterAction?

From February 1st to 6th, 2021, young people participating in a voluntary cultural year in Berlin and Brandenburg took part in an experiment: a digitally conducted seminar with parallel workshops on "Photography 1: The City as Stage," "Photography 2: Urban Space Body," and "Film: Screen Interaction."
The result is a diverse range of perspectives on '#InterAction' in the form of photographic series and short films, which we will be publishing here gradually. Enjoy!
