How many news stories have been sent out into the world today? Whether as images, text, audio, or video – the flood of information is almost overwhelming. Berlin, as a place of history, political power, and diverse cultures, is the starting point for many journalistic stories and a meeting place for both traditional and alternative media professionals. But how does journalistic work function in an age where everyone can contribute their voice online – from reports to tweets? How can this voice be shaped, and above all, how can it be heard? How can it make a difference? How can it speak out? How can it listen and be heard? But how?
Making one's voice heard is a crucial aspect of social participation. To develop a sense of self-awareness and the importance of being a key player within society, exchange with other media creators, learning media and journalistic techniques, and gaining practical experience through media work are essential. The title "Move it" reflects the desire to take action and explore places and people who are active or connected to movement. Berlin, as a hub of media, power, and history, offers numerous and diverse access points to different "voices," places, and their narratives. In this seminar, young people and young adults from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds embark on a journalistic exploration through expressing their own stories (say it), listening, and making their discoveries audible (listen). The focus of the content-related and technical exploration and experimentation is on audio and radio – to make different "voices," opinions, and narratives in and about Berlin audible, for example, through interviews.
