How can we succeed in getting young people interested in complex social issues and motivating them to engage with them – for example, in the field of “globalization and media communication”?
In the seminar “ Mini-LARPs in political youth education ”, multipliers learned about the method and developed their own approaches for Mini_LARPS in political youth education.
A mini-LARP (Live Action Roleplay) involves a one- to four-hour role-playing game in which new experiential spaces can be opened up and educational content can be encountered through an intensive gaming experience. Therefore, mini-LARPs were tested at the beginning of the seminar in order to derive requirements for their use in political education from the gaming experience.
The critical examination and discussion of design and application possibilities generated impetus for the development of original games on topics such as flight/migration or self-determination and external control in the data society. All game approaches are to be further developed and tested in seminars.
