From April 26th to 29th, 2023, the Pentecost LAB of the youth advisory board took place at the wannsee FORUM. The event revolved around the theme of "Identity(ies)." Participants had the opportunity to explore their own personal identity in a concrete way, while simultaneously gaining a new perspective on the role of different identities in society as a whole.
On Saturday, creative workshops focusing on improvisational theater and photography guided participants through this multifaceted question. This allowed them to immerse themselves artistically in the topic and shape their work according to their own chosen priorities.
On Sunday, a Barcamp was held, providing space for even more topics. Participants themselves led small workshops on a variety of subjects. From sports activities like yoga and Turkish folk dancing, to creative language workshops such as haikus and poetry slams, to personal workshops like character creation and a discussion about body image, there was something for everyone. In small groups, participants could share their own talents and knowledge while also being open to the ideas of others.
During the final discussion on Monday, the participants reflected on their time together and the newly gained experiences. Particular emphasis was placed on the positive group dynamics during the seminar, both among the participants and the team; also highlighted were the exceptionally positive and safe atmosphere conducive to personal discussions and the knowledge gained about identity.
We thank the youth advisory board for their responsible and effective organization and for the openness and collaborative spirit of all participants. We are therefore very much looking forward to next year's Pentecost LAB!
