What scenes play out in our mind's eye when we think about our future? Students from the Queen Louise Foundation made films based on their images of the connection between past, present and future.

Science fiction brings visions of the future of individuals and society to the screen. Many ideas from classic films have long since become part of our current reality. In the film seminar "Science Fiction: To the Future Through the Past," young people researched cinematic science fiction models from the distant and recent past from November 31st to December 5th, 2016, and then explored their own ideas about a world of tomorrow. The result was two films that deal with past and future in very different ways, offering glimpses into both near and distant time dimensions. Both, however, encourage reflection on how the future is connected to decisions made in the here and now.
