Half-hour guided tours on September 14, 2025, provided insights into our listed building and grounds.
The villa, sold to the US authorities in 1951 by the Jörger heirs, is part of the ensemble built between 1906 and 1908 by the architects Breslauer & Salinger. As an American contribution to the democratization of Germany, the Wannseeheim Educational Center for Youth Work was established here. Today, the wannseeFORUM Foundation uses the building for political and cultural youth education.
The complex is not just a monument; it is also a symbol for the promotion of democracy and human rights. Over a hundred visitors on Open Monument Day not only learned more about the building's history but also gained insight into our political and cultural work with children and young people. On that beautiful late summer day, our garden also invited visitors to linger and enjoy a coffee – an offer that was gladly accepted.
