The work of the wannseeFORUM Foundation is committed to democratic values, in particular the inviolability of human dignity and human rights as enshrined in the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations.
Mutual respect is our guiding principle, both in our educational work with children and young people and in our daily interactions with all employees and guests.
The following Respect Charter serves as a fundamental consensus and guideline.

What exactly is respect? A big word, an abstract concept that must first be given meaning through our attitudes and actions. For living and learning together at the wannseeFORUM – whether in person or, as increasingly in online formats in 2020/21 – we developed a Respect Charter It serves as the foundation for positive interaction for everyone involved with the wannseeFORUM.

Finding and discussing linguistic and visual images on the topic of respect has often been a seminar topic: here are two examples of rap videos created during seminars

Rap workshop: respect charter (Link to the seminar “respect-off & online” with young people from the “Media and Communication” course at Friedensburg School)
“Open your Eyes” (Link to the seminar “#Interaction”, Dec 2021 with prospective educators from the Anna Freud School)

The Respect Charter is constantly being developed – feel free to discuss it with us.
For example, the "Respect Charter to go," which explains the most important guidelines in a concise format on a card in German and English.
