Foundation wannseeFORUM received boats from a neighboring rowing club in the summer, these were put to use for the first time during the student council seminar from September 25th to 30th, 2016. A group of intrepid students from the Ellen-Key-School, the Goethe-Gymnasium , and the Röntgen-School, accompanied by two teachers, set off to explore the lake district around Lake Wannsee. Equipped with life jackets and paddles, they completed a large circuit of the lake and returned – thankfully dry. The students' reports were overwhelmingly positive, and we hope to offer many more students and other participants the opportunity to paddle around the lake next year.
After gliding across the water in the afternoon, it was time for the students to gather around a warm and, most importantly, dry campfire. Under the guidance of a school social worker, who is also a volunteer firefighter, the students lit the fire. Once the fire was properly lit, marshmallows could be roasted, or participants could simply enjoy the warmth and atmosphere. With this evening's conclusion, the day came to an end, and the participants went to bed to be rested for the next day.
