What does the city of the future look like, the city we want to live in? At the MachGrünCamp (MakeGreenCamp), young people explored this question through workshops and excursions from April 7th to 13th, presenting their own creative proposals. They also had the opportunity to discuss the project with Ingrid Müller and Julia Seim from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, which sponsors the MachGrünCamp, at the wannseeFORM event. A comprehensive video documentary provides insights into the creation process of the films, models, and theatrical scenes that the young people developed about the city of the future and the green professions within it.
The train station has solar panels on its roof, the supermarket generates its electricity from biomass grown on its facade, there are free-range chickens right next door, and you can enjoy an orchard on the roof of the high-rise. This is what the city of the future looks like, designed by participants in the construction workshop of the "mach Grün!" camp. In a video, they take us on a walk through their city.
There is also extensive video documentation from all the other workshops, offering insights into and results from the "mach Grün!" camp.
The aim of the seminar project by LIFE eV in cooperation with the wannseeFORUM Foundation is to teach young people about the "greening of professions" and encourage them to explore sustainability-oriented practices in the professional world and develop their own green career prospects. It is part of the joint project "Go Green! Discover and Shape Professions ." The second "Go Green!" Camp has now taken place at the wannseeFORUM, and is extensively documented on machgruen.de . (See also "Go Green!" Camp in December 2016. ) Many creative ideas were generated. The video also captures impressions from the theater workshop and the performance for guests, in which the participants jointly presented scenes depicting the past, present, and future of a green future. What role do cell phones play in the city of the future? Is a life without them conceivable? What will our future look like if we continue as we are? The film workshop group produced two films: "Cell Phone Away" and "We'll Carry On?!" In addition to the films, insights into the production process can also be seen here.
Following an exciting camp in April, the next one is already being planned. It will take place during the autumn holidays from October 28th to November 2nd, 2017. Young people from Berlin aged 14 to 17 can participate. More information will be available soon at machgruen.de/event/camp-berlin or directly from the LIFE eV/mach Grün! Camp
