From September 25th to 30th, 2016, a seminar for student representatives took place at the wannseeFORUM . The seminar focused on developing the participants' personal skills as well as supporting the student council's work at their respective schools. Fittingly, the seminar's theme was "What can be improved at our school?"
participated Goethe-Gymnasium, the Röntgen-Schule , and the Ellen-Key-Schule
On the first day, a small future workshop was held to identify topics for the workshop groups. Participants first had the opportunity to voice any complaints they had about their school and society. The next step involved developing utopian visions of how things could be improved and, finally, considering how these utopian visions could be implemented. The resulting topics were then further explored in the various workshop groups. The comics group created a comic book titled "Kathy and the Brown Sauce," which humorously addressed the well-known problem of dirty school toilets and offered a possible solution. The film team produced a film presenting their vision of a perfect school . They also produced a radio program that included both dramatic elements and interviews on the topics of TTIP and CETA. The rap group tackled a very serious subject. In their song, they addressed the issue of social inequality and the many problems that people, especially children and young people from impoverished backgrounds, have to contend with.
In addition to the work in the workshop groups, there was also a diverse range of leisure activities. During lunch breaks, many students took advantage of the last beautiful summer days to Pohlesee go boating. A large bonfire was also held one evening.
The seminar concluded on Friday with a grand final presentation, and all the students went home with many new insights and ideas for their student council work.
