Strengthening accessibility step by step

A group of people outdoors, standing and moving in a meadow. Some are wearing sportswear, others are in casual clothes. In the foreground, a boy in blue clothing is standing on a piece of cardboard.

Breaking down barriers, creating access

We are constantly working to make spaces and offerings

  • new guidance systems,
  • better lighting,
  • modern technology.

In our seminars we focus on:

  • simple language,
  • including methods
  • accessible materials.

Our barrier-free rooms:

  • the Theatersaal with ramp and wheelchair-accessible toilet
  • the Atrium, including Studio Süd and west, accessible by elevator
  • the café and the Blue Salon on the ground floor
  • a barrier-free overnight room in Landhaus
  • a barrier-free overnight room in Atrium

Networking for diversity and inclusion

We exchange ideas with others nationwide and in Berlin on the topics of diversity orientation and inclusion, for example, on "Shifting coordinates – expanding perspectives. Diversity-oriented and anti-racist organizational development in the AdB."

We've gained experience in recent years, for example, through the participation of sign language interpreters in seminars with the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf Children's and Youth Parliament. Such collaborations help us implement inclusion in a lively and practical way.
