Learning, living and shaping democracy

Our seminar trips focus on democratic education. Children and young people learn how they can participate in school life. We encourage them student government, student parliaments , or as peer mentors to become active participation can work. They strengthen their knowledge of democracy and find their role in the community. In doing so, they not only learn important basics, simple processes, and good examples of participation, but they also learn to develop their own potential.

Shaping and changing schools

In the participation seminars , participants learn how they can get involved in school life. They learn important basics, simple procedures, and good examples of participation. In these seminars, we work with artistic workshops. The students work throughout the week on an artistic project related to a socio-political topic.

The student mentoring seminars at wannseeFORUM combine knowledge with practice. Participants develop their own projects and work together to promote participation. Democratic collaboration is central to the process. They are trained as mentors for the new seventh-grade classes at their school by team members who share their own experiences.

Participation: Youth Advisory Board

The youth advisory board is actively involved in shaping the program of the wannseeFORUM. Its members carry out their own projects and contribute the perspectives of young people to the foundation. Two members represent the youth advisory board with voting rights on the foundation's board of trustees. The Participation and Schools supports the board in its collaboration with the entire wannseeFORUM team.
